TaeguTec Rushes to Milling Success With New Cutter

TaeguTec has now launched its innovative Mill2Rush series of milling cutters and inserts. The new cutter bodies accommodate the exciting double sided inserts with 6 corners that reduce costs, insert changeovers and improve productivity.

The Mill2Rush is the result of tireless R&D work that now provides an economical solution with a positive helical cutting edge that reduces cutting forces and vibration whilst offering excellent surface finish. The new cutters are available in end mill, modular or face mill type to generate remarkable performance on slotting, shouldering and plunging operations.

To ensure the new Mill2Rush is truly universal, TaeguTec has developed the insert range to encompass grades for machining low and high carbon steel; alloy, tool and stainless steel as well as titanium alloys, high temp alloys and gray and nodular cast iron. This exceptional diversity makes the Mill2Rush the solution of choice that can be used in the aerospace, automotive and mould & die industries as well as in general machine shop applications. The inserts are available in TaeguTec’s TT7080, TT9080, TT8080, TT7800, TT6800 and TT6080 grades for machining at feeds of 0.1 to 0.25mm/tooth on an extraordinarily wide range of materials.

The Mill2Rush inserts are extremely thick with a new geometry for high strength cutting performance. With a wide wiper flat to improve surface finish and a positive axial rake angle, the Mill2Rush promotes smooth cutting by generating low cutting forces.

The end mill and the modular cutters are both available in 25, 32 or 40mm diameters with the option of two, three or four insert pockets on the cutter body whilst the face milling cutter is available from 40 to 160mm diameters with four to 16 insert pockets. The rigid and robust face milling cutters have a weight from 0.3 to 4.3kg dependant upon the selected diameter. Like the end mill, the face milling cutter is available with through coolant. The three cutter bodies all utilise TaeguTec’s dovetail clamping design feature that increases the clamping forces to ensure a secure and rigid clamping structure. Each cutter body has undergone extensive testing and development to ensure the end user achieves speeds, feeds and surface finishes that outperform competitor product offerings.
