TaeguTec Launches QuadRush Multi-Purpose Turning Tools

Extending its already extensive parting and grooving series, TaeguTec has now launched its new QuadRush series of turning tools. The unique new development is capable of parting, grooving chamfering and lateral turning with an insert that has four cutting edges to significantly improve performance and repeatability on small turning machines and Swiss type turning centres.

The new QuadRush has a high positive chipformer that delivers excellent chip control to make it the choice product for economical and efficient turning applications. Offering excellent surface finishes when it is used for turning and grooving, the surface quality is enhanced by a clamping system that has three contact points and a side torx screw for accurate and robust indexing.

The new design offers a multitude of cost and economic benefits over conventional parting and grooving systems. For example, if one edge breaks the other three can be used as the design of the cutter body protects the three remaining cutting edges whilst the fourth is machining.

For machine tools with small work envelopes, the QuadRush allows the end user to index the insert from both sides of the toolholder, a major benefit when working on compact Swiss type machines. Added to this, the series is available with right or left hand toolholders to meet the needs of the end user.
For grooving applications TaeguTec has developed a range of inserts that permit the machining of grooves to a depth of 6.4mm with a range of insert widths from 0.5mm to 3.18mm with a vast array of radius options available. With regard to parting, the inserts are available in 1, 1.5 and 2mm widths with the ability to part-off workpieces up to 26mm diameter.

The QuadRush is currently available in TaeguTec's versatile T9080 grade that is suitable for machining a variety of steels, cast iron, high temperature alloys and titanium. Customers are encouraged to try this innovative new product as it has proven to drastically reduce set-up times and insert costs whilst improving productivity and efficiency in small component turning applications.
