ITC Takes the 'Edge-Off' Aluminium Machining With New Cutters

The reputation of Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) as the market leading manufacturer of cutting tools for machining aluminium has been further extended with the launch of its Cyber Series of 3091 Radius tools. The three fluted 3091 Series is synonymous with rapid material removal rates and long tool life. These attributes have now been enhanced with the arrival of the new aluminium radius tool.

The impressive new line offers an extended reach for cavity machining and the processing of complex geometries. With a long overall length and extended reach, the tool life and consistency of the new radius tool is setting standards within the aerospace and motorsport sectors. The new range is available in diameters of 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20mm with each diameter having a selection of radii ranging from 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4 and 5mm depending upon the chosen diameter.

The 3091 Radius Series has a cutting depth of 1.5XD. This enhances rigidity and surface finishes by minimising vibration when conducting heavy cutting depths at high feed rates. With an overall length from 75 to 150mm, a cut length up to 30mm and a reach of 12 to 65mm, ITC has optimised the geometry of the new radius series to outperform all alternate aluminium tools available.

In addition to the high helix flute design that rapidly evacuates swarf and the relatively short cut length that stabilises vibration and machining performance, the 3091 Radius Series is centre cutting. This enables it to conduct a wide variety of machining strategies that are now being introduced by high-end CAM vendors.

MIND started using Pulse-PR in 2005 as we wanted a fresh approach to our marketing strategy. Since making the change, Pulse-PR has significantly increased our presence in the UK magazines with quality editorials and most recently assisting us in securing the prestigious MWP Award at the MACH Show 2010
