ITC Develops New Long Series Aluminium Cutters

ITC has now launched its new 2201 Series of two flute long length end mills for highly productive machining of aluminium and non-ferrous components. The innovative new end mill range has a radical new flute geometry that provides remarkable swarf clearance and impeccable surface finishes when machining at high feed rates on deep cavities and difficult to reach surfaces and profiles.

Designed by ITC's R&D department that is committed to innovation, the new series is an evolution from previous aluminium cutters. The new geometries on the 2201 Series enable it to eliminate vibration and chatter whilst machining at depths up to 60mm at high feed rates.

The 2201 Series is available as either a square end cutter or with a radius. The straight shank series is a centre cutting, right hand helix range manufactured from an ultra wear resistant micro-grain carbide that delivers tool life beyond the realms of competitor cutting tools.

The performance levels of the 2201 Series is truly remarkable considering the series has an overall length from 75 to 150mm dependent upon cutter diameter. The exciting new series is available in diameters including 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20mm with an identical shank diameter on cutters from 8mm upwards for enhanced rigidity.

The 3 to 5mm cutters have an overall length of 75mm whilst the 6-12mm cutters are 100mm long and the 16 and 20mm cutters are 150mm in length. The range has a cutting length from 15 to 60mm. With each cutter designed to incorporate the optimal cut length, the series guarantees exceptional levels of performance and material removal.

To further enhance capability, tool life and performance consistency, the range is available with a radius to eliminate the possibility of edge chipping. The 3 to 6mm cutters are available with a 0.5 and 1mm radius whilst all other cutters in the range have a choice of radii from 0.5 to 2mm in 0.5mm increments. This vast selection of diameters and end radii ensures that the high performance 2201 Series is capable of meeting the high performance needs of the marketplace.
