Customers new and old give Tornos the Thumbs-up at Open House
25 October 2011
The recent Tornos UK Open House proved a major success for the manufacturer of high quality Swiss turning centres. The three day event that gave the UK's first showing of the Delta 38/5, Sigma 32 and EvoDeco 10 resulted in strong machine sales for the Coalville based company.
Receiving over 100 visitors from almost 70 companies, the event proved a resounding success with sales of the new Delta 38/5 and Sigma 32 to existing Tornos users and several Delta 20’s and Gamma 20/6B sold to new Tornos customers. This impressive order book adds to two additional machines that were sold in the three weeks between the EMO event and the Open House to customers that attended EMO but could not attend the Open House.
The event evolved around new technologies from Tornos that include the reduction of bar waste, the dual running capabilities of the Delta and Gamma machines as sliding head or guide bushless systems and the highly productive one-hit machining philosophy.
Reflecting upon the event, Tornos UK Accounts Manager, Mr John Stretton comments: "We were very pleased with the turnout and the visitors were excited by the new innovations that are putting Tornos in an increasingly competitive position in the marketplace. What is more encouraging is that we are winning customers that have historically been customers of our competitors. This is a great reflection of the capabilities and benefits of the new range of machines and their excellent cost to performance qualities. The success is also a result of our investment in new staff to provide impeccable levels of service and support."
Tornos also held a prize draw at the show with Kevan Kane from Technoset winning a two night break whilst MCS director Warren Gray won an iPad2 that was sponsored by co-exhibitor Lease UK. Tornos would like to thank visitors for attending the event that undoubtedly opened visitors eyes to the world of innovation available from the Swiss manufacturer. Tornos would also like to pay gratitude to Floyd Automatic and Iscar for tooling its turning centres at the exhibition. The Open House was also a great opportunity for Tornos and its customers to build relationships with its technology partners that included ITC, Rainford Precision, Kraft & Bauer, Blum Novotest, Jemtech, Emmaco UK, Sandvik and PSL Datatrack. The event was a well taken opportunity for its technology partners to inform the turned parts market of specific technologies available to improve productivity, quality and cost effective production.
